Pakistan: Carry Out the Vote on Kashmir’s Fate
In an exclusive video interview with PassBlue, Pakistan’s ambassador to the United Nations, Asim Iftikhar Ahmad, breaks down the decades-long impasse over the Jammu and Kashmir dispute.
“It’s even heavier with the permanent members to ensure that the decisions and the resolutions that they adopted should be implemented,” he told PassBlue while referring to long-ignored UN Security Council resolutions from the 1940s and ’50s calling for a plebiscite on the fate of Kashmir.

Watch the full conversation to hear why Pakistan insists that resolving the Kashmir dispute still matters as well as how the Council can reclaim its legitimacy.
